Cute Little Ethan

The other day I was nursing Makaylin on the couch when Ethan came running into the living room, his diaper in his hand. I told him to throw that one away and go get another one. He brought me a buzz lightyear one. When I put it on him he said "My diaper to the rescue!"

Well, I suppose I have a bit to catch up on. First of all, Jacob turned 4 on the 17th!!! He's getting so big. He waned a Diego theme this year.

So, we have the Diego cake...

The Diego cake with an extra Diego candle...

And all other things Diego, although you really can't see them in this picture (the hats, cups, plates, Happy Birthday sign, balloons, etc., etc.,). It also seems that you can't have a birthday without the famous sitting on the table with your cake and presents picture.

Happy Birthday to our fun, goofy little boy, oh, I mean big boy.

And now, the moment we've all been waiting for, the kids singing Happy Birthday to Jacob at the church!!!!

Jacob and Ethan using their Christmas presents.

I was making french toast yesterday for lunch. When I turned around, this is what I saw.

I guess she has a sweet tooth like her mom.

We were coming home from dropping Anthony off at school and I noticed that there was a sticker on the window where Jacob was sitting. It was a sticker that he gets everyday after preschool. I asked him what it was doing on the window.
"It's been here since we got the van"
"No it hasn't"
"Yes it has"
"No it hasn't, liar, liar pants on fire couldn't get through the telephone wire, turn it in, turn it out, turn it in to sauerkraut"
"Sauerkraut? What does sauerkraut do?"
"You eat it, I don't think it's very good though"
"Well I'm going to eat it and I'm going to say "de-licious"
"I doubt it, I think you'll take one look at it and not eat it."
"Well, I'm going to eat it"
"Grandma likes it, maybe next time your at grandma's house she'll get some for you "
"But is she going to make good sauerkraut?"
"I don't know, why don't you call her and ask her?"

So he did :)

Jacob my Jacob

Anthony and I were talking about doing something and I asked Anthony who was going to babysit the kids. He said that Jacob could. Jokingly, I asked Jacob if he even knew what a baby sitter does. He said, "Yeah, it's someone who sits in a seat, a baby seat. "

I told Jacob to bring his suitcase upstairs. This was as far as he made it. Usually when it's really quiet there a big mess to clean up.

Jacob is a Sunbeam!!

Today was Jacob's first real day in primary. I was a bit bummed because I teach a class in the senior primary. The senior primary never sees the junior primary (they don't do opening/closing exercises together). Last week we were out of town and they sang to all the new sunbeams to welcome them in. I was sure that they would sing to Jacob since he wasn't there last week. I made sure that Anthony brought the camera to church to tape it since I couldn't be there. I was so excited after church to see the video and they didn't sing to him!! I was so sad. Your first born has their first day in primary only once (don't worry, if you think these are weird thoughts, Anthony thinks so, too). Anthony did take these pictures for me.

I was sad that this was all I had of his first day. Anthony did tell me that the person doing sharing time asked the kids who our two older brothers are (she was referring to Jesus and Satan). Anthony said that Jacob rose his hand and she called on him. When she asked him what he thought, Jacob said, "I don't know".
Next week is his birthday, right on Sunday. I am having Anthony bring the camera to tape the first time that he will get a birthday song sung to him in primary. Don't worry Makaylin, I probably won't be like this when you go into primary (no promises though).

Makaylin and her Bed

Makaylin has been sleeping in our bed, pretty much her whole life. I really don't sleep real well when she's in our bed and have tried to get her to sleep in her own bed. January, I decided, was going to be the month that she was going to finally sleep on her own. We didn't have any more trips planned (and I couldn't think of any more excuses). Last night I finally got her to sleep (on her mattress which is on the floor right now) at 2am. I'm not totally sure what time she woke up but we didn't go in to get her until 11:45am!!! I had to keep checking on her to make sure she was breathing. I checked on her and then went to take a shower. When I got out I could hear her fussing. I'm not going to get to excited yet but hopefully this will be the beginning of a new relationship (her with her bed).

New Year's Resolutions

Anthony and I were talking the other night about about an event that happened a few years ago (I can't remember what that event was now). We couldn't remember exactly when this event occurred, so I got out one of my old journals and looked it up. This was back when Anthony made us write in our journals every night. Of course I would usually protest and tell him that I had nothing to write about. He often times would remind me about how fun it is to go back and read old journal entries. So, I would write a few lines to appease him, knowing that he was right.
Last year he decided to do his journaling online. Since this time, my own journal has greatly suffered. So, as one of my New Year's Resolutions, I've decided to go online with my journal as well. In doing so, I hope that I will be able to capture more of my life as "in the days of old" when Anthony used to make me write in my paper journal every night.
Now, for those of you who follow my blog will know that I'm not the greatest blogger. I can go weeks and sometimes months on end without blogging. Hopefully, this will change :)
While I'm doing my daily journal entries, I'm going to try and play catch up for the month that I've missed.
