We All Knew This Day Would Come

Yes everyone, I had to, ...pump my own gas, all by myself, it was just me and the kids. Ok, I didn't end up doing it all by myself but I thought I was going to. I had been telling Anthony for a couple days that we needed to get gas in the van. Well, didn't happen. We really needed to get some food in this house so we went to Costco. I forgot all about the lack of gas we had until we got in the car. I figured, it was time. I was going to get Costco gas but there were about a million people in line so I thought we'd get our stuff first and then get gas. While we were standing in line it started snowing, like a lot! I HATE driving in the snow. Our van really doesn't have the greatest tires on it, plus, you have to go up scary hill to get to our house. My tires slid on it once at night when it was only wet, no snow, no ice, just wet. I have to give myself a pep talk every time we go up it. I thought about just not getting gas and going home, especially after I saw how the lines grew at the Costco gas station. I was thinking I would take the back way home though and I really don't know the back way very well. I didn't want to run out of gas, especially not in the snow. So, I found another gas station, pulled up at the pump, got out and stared at it. The guy getting gas behind me asked if I needed any help. I told him that I was from Oregon and didn't know how to pump my own gas. He said that he saw my plates and saw me just staring at the pump and figured I didn't know how to do it. He started the gas for me and then showed me how to take it out when his was done, then waited for mine to stop (yeah, he was a REALLY nice guy). Then he stood there while I took it out myself. It was a good thing he was there because I would have sprayed gas everywhere. I had my hand around the lever thing instead of just the handle. He quickly told me not to hang onto it there. I thanked him (profusely) and then asked him if he would be here the next time I needed to get gas. He just laughed at me.
I wonder how long I can live here and have Oregon plates....

Yes, I'm Still Here

I kinda have an excuse this time. We've been having problems getting our pictures downloaded to our computer. It's a long boring story but I think we have it figured out finally.
So, what did you miss?

The Seattle Aquarium
We went a few weeks ago with Anthony's Aunts. Many of the pictures came out blurry but here's a few.

Valentines Day
We made yummy treats.

And had hearts for dinner!
(I kinda burnt the bread. We also had spaghetti with lasagna heart noodles.)

Date Night, With Our Kids
This is actually something that I've been wanting to do for a long time now, like, a really long time. It started out as 'Jacob Night', it was on our calendar for along time. I thought it would be really good for us to take turns taking Jacob out and spending some one on one time with him. We could do something fun, eat ice cream or just go for a walk. I just wanted us to have that time with him. No, I wasn't favoring Jacob, Ethan was too young to understand and I'm not sure Makaylin was even born yet. Between school, work and church, it just never happened. Well, I'm happy to report that we are finally doing it! Jacob and I went to a movie last Friday night! We had ice cream afterward and then went to Walmart. It was nice to be able to spend this time with him. Ethan will go out with Anthony in two Fridays (we will do it every other Friday) . I'm excited to be able to have this time with the kids and be able to talk with them. I think it will be very important as they get older.

Snow Day
Yes, it snowed here, quite a bit actually. Enough to have some fun in the snow!
